Set up encrypted folder like a write-only dropbox?
« on: November 25, 2014, 05:23:06 PM »
I'm looking for a way to set up an encrypted folder to drop TextEdit files into. I want to be able to drop files into the folder without having to encrypt or decrypt anything, but once the files are dropped into the folder they will be encrypted and they cannot be accessed except by entering a password for the folder. I don't want each file to be encrypted so I have to enter for a password for each file, but every file should be available once a password for the folder is entered. I want this set up for journal entries. I want to be able to make a day's entry easily at a moment's notice without having to go through a lot of steps to encrypt or decrypt something or enter a password first.

Is this possible with Espionage?

I guess the answer is yes.
Espionage protect folders, so take an empty folder, put some files into it, add it to Espionage.
When you want to work with this folder, unlock it, and it will stay unlocked for as long as you do not lock it, you can add, remove, edit files to/from/in this folder.
Once you are done, lock the folder in espionage.

This is the simplest scenario. You can "spice it up" a bit if you wish by setting the folder to auto unlock when you log on, and to automatically lock after specified amount of inactivity time.

The best is to test with some small folder and see if it is all clear to you and if you like it, after all. It will run for two weeks in trial, and after that you have 60 days money back guarantee, so you have plenty of time to make up your mind.

If you have any further questions, just let me know.
