Espionage 2 / Corrupted Backup Folders
« on: August 07, 2012, 03:23:54 AM »
OSX Snow Leopard, Espionage 2: Backup of all encrypted folders to my Time Capsule HDD.

Now that backup folder is corrupted. I had first uninstalled Espionage, rebooted, then wanted to delete the backup folder on the Time Capsule - endless and endlessly letting the deletion run for hours, even overnight. No result. Stopped the deletion after 16 hours or so.

The folder is visible in Finder, but for example if I right click->get info, the size cannot be calculated, it will load forever. If I go deeper into the backup folder, there is one point at which it wont go any further - e.g. espionageBackups->user->number->SyncServices->endless loading, not showing the contents.

So whatever I do, it always ends in either endless loading of the folder, or endless trying to delete it with no results.

I tried installing the latest Espionage 2 again and add these folders via drag&drop, like it is advised in your help section, so that Espionage "should realise that these are encrypted folders" -  but Espionage just crashes.

Any advice on this situation would be really awesome, because I'm getting a bit worried that this might affect the integrity of the Time Capsule HDD. (which works perfectly fine outside the Espionage backup folder)

Thanks guys

Espionage 2 / Option to not open finder on unlock?
« on: February 05, 2011, 11:12:52 AM »
Hey guys,

just a quick suggestion: It would be great to have an option to stop Espionage opening a finder window if you unlock a folder through the Espionage menu icon in the menu bar.

If I unlock a folder through that menu it is usually because I want to save a file to that folder.

No idea how hard or easy that is to realize, just thought I could let you know, maybe you like the idea.

Take care

Espionage 2 / Safari unlock really slow
« on: December 05, 2010, 01:50:12 PM »
Hey guys,

I am using Espionage since 3 months now and am very happy with it. However, unlocking Safari got slower and slower until the point that now I am asking you guys for help.

I am using both the newest and up-to-date version of OS X and Espionage.

I have added Safari with the application template provided. The locked folders are "Safari", "" and another "Safari". So 3 in total.

If I open Safari and then enter my password, "Safari" and "" are unlocked within 1 second. And then it takes about 20 seconds until the other "Safari" is unlocked. During these 20 seconds I can still move the mouse cursor, but nothing else. No other application will open or respond. It seems to me that it takes longer and longer until "safari" is unlocked now. However, if I then lock Safari and unlock it again, all 3 folders are unlocked quickly. So it only slows down for the first time I unlock it after boot-up.

All other applications/folders are unlocked very quickly. Like the Mail application for example or the other folders I have encrypted.

I wondered if I shall do this: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=99#p229
But before I start messing around, I just wanted to ask for your assessment.

I would be very grateful if you guys can help me out here.

PS: Awesome software nevertheless  :)
