Espionage 2 / Re: Espionage 2 Error

Is the disk image I am looking for to double-click have 'sparsebundle' after the folder name? The folder name is 'Documents' and the one of the names inside is '.Documents.sparsebundle'. There are subfolders that say'this folder contains encrypted data' and 'it is controlled by Espionage'. Do I leave these alone?

Espionage 2 / Espionage 2 Error
May 17, 2016, 10:37:11 PM
I upgraded from Mavericks to El Capitan 10.11.5. I get an error when I start Espionage 2, which says 'Couldn't establish communications with iSPy. Error 1 Try restarting your computer and/or running Espionage. Espionage Helper will quit now.'.
When I restart Espionage 2 i get the error message 'Error! Could not establish communications with EspionageHelper'.'

I can not select the folder in Word 2008 and 2011 to save the document to because Word will not let me select the folder. I can open a document previously save into to the folder, but I can not save a new document to the folder.

After moving to OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion I can not open a folder in Espionage 2 to save a new document in Word 2008 and Word 2011. It shows the folder as a dim icon instead of a solid icon. I can save a new document in Pages 2009.

I did a force quit on Espionage 2 and restarted it, then unlocked one folder and relocked it. Then I did receive the 'Backup Successful' message. I did the rest of the folders and received the 'backup successful' message on all of them.

The encrypted folders were copied to a new HD and added to Espionage 2 and the old encrypted folders on a different HD were deleted from Espionage 2. The new backup folder is on an empty external HD and is set in the Espionage 2 Backup Preferences.

So it looks like everything is working correctly.

Thanks for your help.

I used a different folder for the backup and I never get the message that the backup was completed.

Do you mean create a new folder in Espionage2 and copy the files from one folder to the new folder and then lock the new folder to get it to backup the new folder?
#10
The problem I have now is I get the following message on each file when I lock the files or try to perform a 'Backup Now'.
Alert!
Got error 12 backing up
'Misc'.
It's recommended to re-run backups for this folder to ensure backup integrity.

All the information seems to be OK, The files just do not back up.

I added the folders on my new HD to Espionage 2 and deleted them from my old HD in Espionage 2. But one of the files on the old hD still says it contains encrypted data. How do I get the folder unencrypted without deleting the data?

I use OS X 10.7.5 and Espionage 2.8.13. I cloned my data drive to a larger data drive. How do I get the encrypted files on the new data drive into Espionage 2 and remove the encrypted files from the old data drive from espionage 2?

Do I have to unlock the espionage 3 (or Espionage 2) )folders when I do a clean upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion or can I leave them locked? Do I follow the same procedure if I am going to clone the data hard drive Espionage is on to a larger hard drive?

Do I just unlock the V2 file or do I have to use the minus button in V2 to unprotect it then do I drag it to V3?
#15
Do I just unlock the folder to restore it back to normal?
