Title: Espionage authenticates but won't show encrypted folders from menu - Mac Sequoia
Post by: Elusis on March 11, 2025, 07:19:56 PM
I just moved from a 2021 Macbook Pro to a new Macbook Air, running an M3 chip and Sequoia 15.3.1. My encrypted folders seem to have come over just fine but when I opened Espionage to get to one of my folders, I found an odd error. I can authenticate to get access, but then the dropdown menu from the menu bar is empty, rather than showing my folders to individually unlock.

I checked for updates but it says I'm current.  Any thoughts?

Sorry, can't seem to get my image to show - it's here https://imgur.com/a/HYruK3K

Hello, one simple try, can you switch the OS theme to light instead of dark and see if that changes anything. If it does not, please open a ticket with us and I will look into this thorough a zoom session if all right with you.

Cheers

I was going to try this fix, but then the problem seemed to solve itself? I had restarted several times already so it wasn't a direct cure but eventually the list of folders came back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We in support use to say that the problems which go away themselves come back with friends :-)
I'm glad it works, now, Espionage or not, it is wise to do a regular backup if not of the whole machine, than at least your home folder, that will include Espionage data as well if you left it all on default values.

Happy encryption
