Hello,

If you download Espionage again from www.espionageapp.com and launch it, do you see your folders or not?
Deleting Espionage application will not affect your data. To make espionage empty, would would need to delete the following folder:

your home folder/Library/Application Support/com.taoeffect.Espionage3

considering Library folder is hidden, it is very unlikely that one can do that by accident.

If you have a backup, you can restore that folder and all will be back.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Hello, the fact that you have 5 disk images there does not necessarily mean that those contain your data. With Espionage 3.6 we introduced the plausible deniability feature which creates fake disk images to protect you even further.

If you have a good backup of your Machine there is a hight possibility that we can restore your data, if not, then we can give it a try, but I cannot promise you. If the right disk image is missing, then the data is gone.

If you wish, we can make a remote session and I can try to help you out. If you are interested, mail me at taoeffect@macmesupport.com

Ok i understand that my data are maybe gone...

So maybe we can try something:
Can you tell me what i have to search for, and then witch step i have to do for maybe recover my data.
I haven't got a backup of it cause, i make one before install, and it was uninstall before the new backup !  >:(

I can do all the operation it needed, and then see if it works.

(I don't like remote session, i'm sûre you're a good person but i think you can understand my position :) )

Thank you again.

Hello, sure, I do not mind if you do not want remote session, it is just a time saver, but it is up to you to decide.

In that case I would suggest the following:

In the home folder/Library/Application Support/com.taoeffect.Espionage3
there will be a file called database3. There is also a folder called Backups, this folder contains backups of your Espionage database, Espionage does this automatically. You can try to revert to some older version of it and see if the folders will appear. To do this
- quit espionage
- rename the current database3 into database3-latest or similar
- now pick one from the Backup folder, copy it into the parent folder and rename it to database3
- now launch Espionage and see if the folders appear.
If they do, and you still cannot unlock them, due to disk image missing message, then click onto small "i" near the folder name and with "disk image" drop down menu, see which disk image name is the folder connected to, this is the one you have to find.

If you find it, use the same menu to point Espionage to it, after that you should be able to unlock the folder.

Let me know how it went.

Hello and thank you for the explanation, but it appears that the data was erased with the soft, not just the app (with CMM) so the whole data was erased. Results: no backup, and still no data. Fortunately it was no real important datas, only some test one... But i like to know how work a program before use it.

Thank you a lot, i lost my datas anyway...

If the Espionage was uninstalled using some third party utility then indeed, it can be that the folders were removed, but then I do not understand how come you still have 5 disk images, considering they should be in the same folder as the database file.

Anyway, if I can be of any further help, just let me know.

And reconsider doing backups, external disks are cheap today and time machine does a good job.
