Hi,

I have been more than happy with your work in the last past years. For this reason I did not hesitate a second to upgrade to 3.0, first because I knew it would be a good product, and second to help you keep on the good job. Unfortunately Espionnage 3.0 as a major issue that makes it in my case totally unusable. My main and only usage scenario is to have my mail directory completely encrypted. That is where it hurts, the Mail and Mail Download folders are in the ~/Library/ path and you seem to be blocking it. I understand that some of the folders are crucial for the system, but then one of the best features of Espionnage has gone and make the Upgrade a big step backward even if I like the new interface for its simplicity. Please do something as soon as possible to make Mail encryption possible and keep on the good work.

Cheers,
J.B.

Espionage 2 / Re: Lion 10.7.2 crash with Espionage
November 30, 2011, 01:56:22 AM
I was not using Grow with Espionage anyway because I realized a few months ago that it was not compatible, so this is not the issue. I might have found something that could be related to this issue. Since 10.7.2 I have been having some issues with some apps taking too long to start, the reason is a bug in Lion with iCloud and Documents over iCloud. It could be involved in a race condition with Mail and Espionage Helper. I have deactivated Documents in iCloud and will let you know if I still see the issue. No crashes yesterday.

Espionage 2 / Re: Lion 10.7.2 crash with Espionage

Hi Greg,

unfortunately this is not happening when starting but anytime after that, it can be hours after the last boot, there is no obvious pattern. I have only noticed that until now, iTunes was always started when this occurred. I think this is very very strange that it freezes the whole system like this, even if Mail is having issue to find its folders, it should not kill the whole OS. Do you have any other recommendations that could apply ? I could have the folders mounted at start, but this is for me the whole point of having them encrypted. Any good idea is welcome.

Cheers,
J.B.

Espionage 2 / Lion 10.7.2 crash with Espionage
November 25, 2011, 08:20:01 AM
I started to see this really nasty issue a few weeks ago, now it is getting really a problem. I am basically using Espionage to have my mail folders encrypted and nothing more. Sometimes when I start Espionage (and only when I start Espionage my system completely freezes and I get the following traces:

25.11.11 16:59:11,999 com.taoeffect.EspionageHelper: /dev/disk4             Apple_partition_scheme

My system then becomes only accessible per SSH and the only thing I can do is a shutdown which after 15 minutes has still has not completed.

I have a second little issue, but nothing compared to the crash one. I have Growl 1.3.1 on my system, but Espionage does not recognizes it, nor can it use it.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Espionage 2 / Strange issues since Lion ...
July 31, 2011, 05:48:07 AM
Hi,

I am having issues since I moved to Lion with 2.8.13. Mail behaves very strange, I lost the settings for an account completely although the mails were still there (MobileMe) and half of the MobileMe settings where set to default. After the next boot it was back to what it used to be. I also very often get an Alert message "Alert ! 'Mail' contained files in the shell folder ..." etc. As a Software Engineer, those are the kind of messages that worry me if I don't know what it means. Check the attachment for a small screenshot of the message.

Hi,

I have been using espionage for a while especially with Mail. Everything was perfect for me with 2.8.5 but after updating to 2.8.7 I am starting to get strange alert messages "Skipping folder 'SyncServices' for iTunes, don't have record for it!" this is very annoying  and since I have nothing except Mail configured, I am wandering why are some SyncServices from iTunes involved. Could someone please throw some light on this issue.

Thx in advance
