Title: open image on drive from crashed system on new OS
Post by: G-wook on January 12, 2015, 10:51:26 PM
Looked for a while but couldnt find an answer for this one:

My system had two drives: an SSD for OS and apps, and an HD for all else including my espionage 3 archive.  The SSD got corrupted and will no longer load OS and the backup isnt available to restore.  I am now running the system off of new osx instance loaded on HD that still contains espionage disk image.  Is it possible to open that archive if I know the espionage password (from original SSD instance) and reinstall espionage without having to first revist the original instance of the software? Thanks!

Hello,
Each disk image in which the data resides is protected with it's own, by espionage random generated, password.
These passwords are stored in the espionage's encrypted database, which is protected with the Espionage master password.
So in short, if you do not have the disk image password (there is a possibility to copy it out using Espionage folder options), or if you do not have a copy of the Espionage database, then there is no way we can access the data, even if you do have the disk images accessible.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Rgds
