Hello, it is a bit hard to figure out which course of action did us bring into current situation, but maybe we will find a way out.
First question, did you ever use Espionage V2? I will for the time being assume you did not, if you did, let me know.
The sparse bundle disk image with random name, is a sparse bundle Espionage 3 created and saved into the default target folder which is the

Library/Application Support/com.taoeffect.Espionage3/Data

To reach is, hold down the option key and select Library from Finder's Go menu, once inide the Library, you will be able to navigate further.

The sparse bundle disk images named after the folder they were protecting are those you restored by right clicking onto folder in Espionage and selecting force remove from database option, or those you tried to decrypt by right clicking the folder in Espionage and select decrypt, but which failed to decrypt properly.

If this happens, Espionage will save the disk image onto desktop, and will also export the disk image password for it, this is the one you need to open disk image with, it is a long, random generated string.

So, for each folder you want to access, we will need the disk image and the password for it.

How many folders do you need to access data from?
What are their names?
Do you have disk images from them, if yes, which size are they?
For how many disk images do you have the password text file?

At which time would you be available for a remote session, I think it will be quicker if I try to look into this directly.
I would be available tomorrow at around 9:30PM GMT+1 time zone.

OK, if you have the sparse bundle images, then we are on a good way, one password you have, we need the other one now.
I added you to Skype, I see you will probably prefer early hours of mine, we try to sort out something.

It is very strange that you do not have the application support folders, as Espionage will not work without them. Do you have any backups you can revisit to see if the folder is there?
If you do not have the password for the other image, we will need to find the database from the time the images were still present in Espionage, that would allow us to retrieve the password, if you still remember the Espionage master password.

For the password you do have, here is the procedure how to unlock the folder, it is using terminal because disk utility will not allow you to paste the password, so you will need to type it in, and considering it is long and clumsy it is easy to mistype.

With terminal it look a bit tricky but give it a try:

start terminal and write

cat

and hit space bar so that you get one space character after cat, now drag that password file icon you got when Espionage failed to restore the disk image, over the terminal window, this will fill in the path for you, then write another space, then a pipe character, space and then

attach -stdinpass

space and then drag the disk image icon over the terminal window, this will again fill in the path for you

at the end, it looks something like this:

cat /Users/administrator/Desktop/moviessubfolder2\ -\ PASSWORD\ \(DELETE\ ME\!\).txt | hdiutil attach -stdinpass /Users/administrator/Desktop/moviessubfolder2.sparsebundle

note that the backslashes are just preceding space characters in the path, they will be filled in automatically for you...

now hit enter, and if all fine, the disk image should open i.e. you should get something like this:

dev/disk1             GUID_partition_scheme
/dev/disk1s1           EFI
/dev/disk1s2           Apple_HFS                         /Volumes/Esp3tst1

i.e under one of the paths it should list your disk image...

Let me know if that worked
