Espionage 3 / iCloud Document folder sync mount point
November 16, 2016, 03:02:59 PM
I recently enabled iCould Document folder sync across my two macs (running Sierra). I share the sparse bundles using dropbox across both macs. I also have folders inside of the iCloud-sync'd Document folder that I use as mount points on both macs. So far that seems to be ok but I want to confirm that it officially should not be a problem, particularly if I have the folder unlocked on one machine and iCloud tries to sync the mount point location. I don't seem to haver a problem so far... :P

Quote from: "zsolt"Hello, thanks for the input, I will test this, but first just confirm that you do NOT have the folder unlocked on both Macs accessing this dropbox account.
If you do, this is not supported and will probably result in corrupted disk image.
Pls confirm.
Thanks
Zsolt

No - I'm not accessing both at the same time. We should all know that is bad juju ;-)

Hi,
I'm on Espionage 3.0.2 and use Dropbox to share encrypted folders between computers (sharing the sparsebudles on DB). I've now noticed that Espionage does not "autolock" an open folder. I have the default autolock settings enabled [menu after 10 min, folder after 2 hours] and while the menu does lock, the folder is not locked when I leave the computer unattended. The folder is not open in any finder (or pathfinder, which I also use) windows.

On my other computer I can see that DB is updating some of the sparsebundle bands on a regular basis so I wonder if the two don't play quite as well as I hoped. I'll say that this approach of sharing sparsebundles _does work_ very well in all other ways.

So I was wondering if others have seen this and it's just something I have to live with?

Ciao.
