Title: Espionage on Bootcamp NTFS
Post by: markdjr on March 23, 2011, 06:36:29 PM
I want to use Espionage to password protect a folder in my Bootcamp partition.  It is currently giving me an error saying I need to check that user needs read write permission.  I think that I have that but may be wrong.  Is it possible to use espionage in this way?  Thanks.

It might be, although I haven't personally tested this. Note though that you cannot use these folders from within Windows.

By default the entire Bootcamp partition is not writable from within OS X. You'll need to use something like NTFS-3G (http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/2010/09/ntfs-3g-for-mac-os-x-201088.html) to make the Bootcamp partition writable. Of course, this is probably not supported or recommended by Apple, so I should insert this disclaimer: we're not responsible if you mess up your Bootcamp partition!  :D
