Espionage 3 / Rebuilding System
November 15, 2017, 08:59:05 AM
My old Macbook died so I'm rebuilding on a new one. I had my encrypted folders on an external drive so they're still available. When I try to open a .sparsebundle by double-clicking it and entering my password, it says "Try again" and when I try to import it into espionage, it says "Invalid password".

I don't know if I was on v2 or v3, but I generally try to stay current so I think it would be v3. All the files are not hidden and all .sparsebundles.

What am I doing wrong?

Espionage 3 / sparsebundle size not large enough?
November 27, 2014, 11:54:19 AM
I've encrypted a couple of folders, increased the size to 100 GB, and dropped 40 GB and 70 GB worth of files in them. Get Info shows the correct capacity used, but the sparsebundle all show 90-100 MB in size.

Should I be concerned about this? Where are the files being stored (and protected from being overwritten) if not in the sparsebundle?

Espionage 3 / Beginner help
November 26, 2014, 08:45:02 PM
I'm not sure I understand how Espionage is supposed to work. (I'm coming from TrueCrypt, btw.)

I drop a folder in Espionage and it gets encrypted. I can lock and unlock the folder, but when I lock it the folder is still there and the filenames are listed inside the folder (but not accessible.)

How do I make the filenames (and the folder?) go away once I've locked them? It doesn't make much sense to me that I'd want to encrypt a folder, but leave the filenames where they would still be identifiable, particularly if my goal is plausible deniability.

TIA
