Using espionage ontop of filevault.

I currently use espionage to encrypt several folders and applications.

I'm getting ready to encrypt my entire home directory using file vault and was curious if I could still use espionage on top of file vault. That is have file vault encrypt my entire home directory with password x and then use espionage to encrypt applications using password y.

Are there any known problems with this style of setup?

Hi bit,

The Filevault service is transparent to your applications including Espionage. So, it'll behave just as if there was no filevault running on the machine with one exception. The exception is that the system overall is a bit slower because of the constant encryption in the background.

One of the reasons people choose Espionage is to avoid using FileVault but if you'd like to use both at the same time, that's not a problem at all. You shouldn't have any issues doing this.

Espionage does let you choose a separate keychain, so that you don't have to use your Mac account password to unlock Espionage in addition to the Filevault's password.
