Title: wiping drive and reinstalling esp2
Post by: maxhowarth on August 04, 2014, 08:26:20 AM
hi chaps

having a couple of issues with a mac mini here – we're going to wipe the drive and reinstall. we've got a couple of external fw800 drives attached which are protected by an espionage password.

what do i have to do to make sure that the drives can be unlocked and read after reinstalling snow leopard (we need this old os version to run an older version of retrospect)?

best wishes
max

Hello Max,

You install all new, run Espionage so that it goes through the setup process and then drag the protected folder, one by one, over Espionage window. Espionage should realize that these were protected by Espionage and ask you for the folder password. Once entered, it should add the folder to the list of protected folders.

Make sure you lock the folders before you shut down the first mac.

Let me know if you get stuck.

Rgds
Zsolt
