Espionage 3.6.2
« on: November 27, 2014, 04:09:27 AM »
I tried to open Espionage and it asked for a password that I don't recall creating.  What can I do to to get the program started when I have not "locked" any folders to begin with???

to reset Espionage, make sure Espionage is not running (no padlock icon in menu bar), then rename the following folder
/Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/com.taoeffect.Espionage3

Note that your home Library folder is hidden since Lion, to enter into it from Finder, switch to Finder, hold down the option key and select Library from the list of "places to go".:
now launch Espionage again and it should ask you to set a new password.

Remember however, that reseting it will not allow you to access your previously protected folder, it just allows you to start from scratch.
So do not forget your master password, otherwise you will be locked out from your data and there is no way to get access again without knowing the master password which was active at the time you protected the folders.

Let me know if you have any further questions
