Espionage 3 / Bitcoin for Extra Security
December 19, 2014, 02:22:54 PM
Will you guys be accepting Bitcoin anytime soon? I ask not because I'm an obnoxious Bitcoin fanatic, but because adding Bitcoin to your forms of accepted payment actually contributes to the "plausible deniability" of Espionage 3 that you're touting.

Think about it like this: if someone knows you have plausible deniability encryption software, then that kind of defeats the purpose of having plausible deniability encryption. Given that one purchases an Espionage license with their credit card, and one's credit card info can be easily traced back to the cardholder by anyone who happens to belong to a certain organization, then it seems to me that the lack of a less-easily-tracked alternative payment scheme (e.g., Bitcoin) defeats the purpose of any plausible deniability encryption that you might have.

Speaking as a guy who got suddenly paranoid after the whole Snowden thing came out, the lack of a Bitcoin option is honestly the only thing (well, that and the lack of a warrant canary) that has kept me from purchasing a license, and it's for the very reason I just outlined.
