I noticed today that if I log in with somebody else's account on my Macbook pro, the folders are no longer password protected. If my user account is running, and I also log on with the other user account, the files continue to be password protected. I have a Macbook Pro running the latest version of Lion, and I have two drives on my machine (removed optical drive). Any ideas why this is happening?

Hello Texas-al
Normally you will be protecting folders inside your user folder. And the folders inside your user folder are by default not readable to other users.
So it depends on your folder permission settings and where is the folder which you protected.
However, even if the folder itself is readable, your protected folder should be in an encrypted disk image which has a password on its own. So even if the other users could see your encrypted disk image, without a password she/he cannot open it.
If this does not answer your question, then please specify the path in which your protected folder is placed and then I can give you further instructions what do I need to understand the situation.
Cheers,
Zsolt
