I would like to have Espionage backup to a file server and to do like TimeMachine does, automatically mount the server if it's not mounted already. The backup works fine if the file server is already mounted, but the usual trick of using an alias to the file server to force the mount doesn't work, I guess because the access is with unix rsync. So, any ideas?

I'm not sure, this is unfortunately an area where my knowledge does not extend deeply. I don't know off the top of my head a way of doing this with the current version of Espionage unfortunately.
